About This Model
Placement points (official NCAA scoring) + advancement points (1pt per champ bracket win, 0.5pt per consolation win). These are guaranteed for reaching a given placement.
Bonus points from pins (+2), tech falls (+1.5), and major decisions (+1). These add real value but vary by wrestler. Add them manually for more precise projections.
Historical placement data by weight class will be added to show which weight classes historically over- or under-perform their national ranking at NCAAs.
